Andrew Nsubuga

Born in Central Uganda, Andrew is of the Buganda Tribe, and grew up in a rural village, with his father a well known professional Tourist Driver guide in Uganda. After completing secondary school, Andrew’s Father groomed him in the field of Bird life for one Year.

Andrew joined Nkumba University in Entebbe where he graduated as a tourist guide., After 4 year, he went for further professional practical courses in Bird guiding and tourist driver guiding

Andrew is now a professional birder and is very passionate and knowledgeable about all of the wide variety bird species, animals and Plants species found in Uganda. In his spare time, Andrew loves to read and watch wildlife documentaries, comparing the wildlife of East Africa with other countries.

Richard Tumusime

Richard Tumusime is well trained with many years of on the road experience. He  has attended birding and wildlife courses to enhance an already substantial knowledge of local culture and history.

Ivan Wapicho

Born in Eastern Uganda near the foothills of Mountain Elgon National Park, Ivan Wapicho is of the Bugisu Tribe,

He holds a bachelors degree in tourism management from Nkumba University. He grew up accompanying the grandfather who was a great hunter of small mammals, big rodents and Birds. Something that prepared him for the lifetime job he nurtures. After university he join Uganda Wildlife Educational Center (UWEC) in 2007 later joined the safari driver guide fraternity, Ivan has developed effective and efficient leadership and team work skills, is punctual and is always keen to learn and share with his clients. He has led both cultural and wildlife tours around Uganda. Wapicho is an Ordinary Member with Uganda Bird Guides Club and Nature Uganda – a national membership NGO

Chris Ngabirano

Chris was born in Rwanda and grew up in the area near Ruhengere. He moved to Uganda in 1992 and now lives in Kabale and has a wife with two young children. Chris worked with UWA at  Bwindi Impenetrable forest 1996 – 2004 in an effort of  habituating Gorillas  . He had been working for fourteen years already in the tourism industry as a guide. He is a professional guide with a certificate in professional guiding from Uganda Safari Guides Association (USAGA), 4X4 driving certificates (high range and self recovery) and now many years of experience. His language abilities include English, Swahili and French adds to his versatility as a guide.

Rukundo Samuel

He holds a Diploma in tourism from Nkumba University and is a founder member and chairman of the Bigodi Bird Guides Club. Sam was born in Western Uganda near Kibale National Park “The home of Chimpanzees”.

He grew up accompanying the grandfather who was a pastoralist grazing cattle, sheep and goats. Something that prepared him for the lifetime job he nurtures. Sam has developed effective and efficient leadership and teamwork skills, is punctual and is always keen to learn and share with his clients. He has led both cultural, Birding and wildlife tours around Uganda and Rwanda. Sam has done various courses and has a Certificate in Cultural tourism Guiding and Bird guiding.

Sam is an Ordinary Member with Uganda Bird Guides Club and Nature Uganda – a national membership NGO working to promote the understanding, appreciation and conservation of nature in Uganda which is the East African Natural History Society.
